I was born in North Carolina my family moved to Virginia when I was 3 years of age. I attended school in Dinwiddie and Colonial Heights.
I became a dental assistant in 1980. I’m employed by Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, where I’m still a dental assistant in the clinic and OR.
I have one daughter, Tracy Brown and two son’s Jonathan and Aaron Burnley. I’ve been married 25 years to Dickie Burnley. Dickie and I have been members of the Richmond Shag Club since the late 80’s. Over the years we’ve danced in CSA, SPA, Rookies Revenge and Smoothies contests. We’ve been attending SOS’s and Shag Club Event’s for many years and still do. This year I was inducted into the Virginia Shaggers Hall of Fame.
When our granddaughter Haleigh Noel Brown became interested in the shag about 6 years ago Dickie and I took on a new role in the shag world. We’ve become very active in the Juniors. Dickie and I started the Central Virginia Junior Shaggers in 2012, which has been very successful in teaching kids to shag in Virginia. In 2014 we founded and incorporated the Virginia Junior Shaggers, Inc.
